CCCP 1936
In the first years of its existence the young Soviet republic had to overcome many difficulties, new technologies and industries had to be introduced, and in some areas world records were achieved. In 1936 a crew led by Valerij Chkalov set a long distance flight record going from Moscow – Franz-Joseph-Land – Severnaya Semlya to Petropavlovsk in Kamchatka covering a total distance of 9.374 K. The flight took 56 hours and 20 minutes.
The presented watch «1936» with its sportive pilote look is dedicated to the master of record and stunt flying,V.Chkalov. The original cherry red and anthracite hues of the dial are – so to speak – symbolizing the exceptionality of this man. The shockproofed movement has a central second hand and a water resistance of 5 atm.
